We are deeply saddened as we had great hope that we would be able to move forward with the 7th Annual Tri The Boat Triathlon scheduled for July 11th. Regrettably, due to the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic has presented us, we have unfortunately been forced to cancel this years event.

We will run our full compliment of races on the same day, Saturday July 11th. Great swim and bike courses and unforgettable run courses which utilize the crushed gravel and picturesque trail system that surrounds Stagecoach Reservoir will highlight your day.
Set against the backdrop of the Yampa Valley and the beautiful water of Stagecoach Reservoir, these races offer spectacular surroundings and challenging competition.

PACKET PICKUP FRIDAY JULY 10th
Sprint - Olympic - Half Distance
Packet Pickup will be from 4:00pm – 6:00pm at Twisted Trails Running Store in downtown Steamboat Springs at 601 Lincoln Avenue. Phone: (970) 761-2379
ATHLETES ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO PICK UP THEIR PACKETS FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
Sprint / Olympic / Half-Distance packets will be available for pickup.
We also encourage you to get Body Marked during the packet pickup process to avoid lines in the morning.
At Packet Pickup you will need the following:

Transition will open at 5:45am. At that time athletes can pick up their timing chips, and rack their bikes. Every athlete will have an assigned area based on bib # so look for signage in transition.
There will be volunteers in transition to assist with the process race morning. This is a secured transition – NO family, or spectators are allowed in transition.

FROM STEAMBOAT:
Take Lincoln Ave/ Hwy 40 to Hwy 131. Take Hwy 131 toward Oak Creek. Approximately 6.4 miles after you turn onto Hwy 131 look to make a left turn on RCR 14 Take RCR 14 all the way to Stagecoach. ***Please note, you WILL NOT be turning into the main entrance of the park. Continue straight on 14 until you reach the south end of the lake. Make a left hand turn on 16. The swim start will be in the small parking lot on your left.
TRAVELING NORTH ON 131 – off Hwy 70:
Directly off Hwy 70, take Hwy 6 a very short distance to Hwy 131 North. Proceed north on Hwy 131 for 50 miles. Turn right on RCR 14 toward Stagecoach State Park. Proceed on RCR 14 approximately 3 miles. Make a right turn on 16. The swim start will be in the small parking lot on your left.
Coaching
New course re-designs were done by course director and 5x Ironman Champion Heather Gollnick. Heather is offering a special 16 week training program for athletes wanting to “conquer” the TRI THE BOAT course, of any distance, or the “Beat The Boat” category for those racing both the Olympic on Saturday and Half on Sunday.
Heather has been coaching athletes for 20 years and with all the inside knowledge on how to best train for this challenging course would like to extend this special offer to our registered participants.

Camping
Located in the verdant Yampa Valley south of Steamboat Springs, Stagecoach State Park offers visitors a wonderful area to enjoy Colorado's outdoors. The park is centered around a 780-acre reservoir with full-service marina. Enjoy an unlimited array of activities, including fabulous boating and fishing in the summer and cross country skiing and ice fishing in the winter. The Elk Run Trail (along the south shore) and the Wetlands Trail (located at the inlet) provide great opportunities for nature observation and recreation. The park has 92 campsites spread among the lush and fragrant sagebrush of the Yampa Valley accommodating trailers, motor homes, pick-up campers and tents.
